Three generations of iron

We are third-generation master craftsmen, and Amador has been building for over 30 years. Roy Prince grew up in the manufacturing and machine shop industry, and that is how the doors get made: measured, machined and built by hand.

How a door gets made

Every iron door, gate, railing and lantern we sell is designed and built 100% in house. This is the path every door takes.

Steel starts flat: We shear and bend flat sheets of steel into our own tubing, at least 14-gauge.
Scrolls are bent by hand: Raw 5/8 inch bar stock is bent in house, by hand, into the scrollwork.
Hinges are machined: We machine our own ball bearing hinges, three to a door.
Foam and glass go in: The door and jamb are foam injected, 5/8 inch insulated glass goes in, and marine-grade seals go on any glass that opens.
Sealed against the weather: Each door is coated, then sealed with two coats of clear polyurethane.

Engineers and artisans

Two full-time engineers work alongside our artisans, and our artisans are experts in their field. Bring us any design you like, and we can build it.

We build for homeowners, and we also hold contracts with home builders. Our doors are in homes and businesses across Harris, Waller, Grimes, Montgomery, Walker, Liberty, Chambers, Fort Bend, Brazoria and Galveston counties.
